Tech Lead, London, Full-time

We are looking for a hands-on tech lead to work with our founder and CEO to begin building our systems architecture. In addition to building and having a direct say on the product, you will also work with the team in hiring a top-notch engineering team, and assist in crafting the technical strategy. This is day zero for the team, and if starting at the ground and building excited you please get in touch!

 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Hire and lead the development of the platform, while working closely with the founder/CEO.

  • Scrutinize and reason clearly about the technology and architecture choices. In many cases, you will be the decider of these decisions, while being pragmatic about our technology choices.

  • Put in place internal operations and best practices. Lead by example.

  • Hire and develop a team of top-class engineers, contributing to the overall vision, strategic direction and delivery management.

  • Believe in clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing and continuous deployment

  • Directly contribute to core interface design and write code. Serve as a role model for how great software should be written¬†

  • Advise the founder on key technical considerations related to the future of fintech.

Skills required:

 

  • Experience in Fintech (eCommerce and helping SMBs a plus!)

  • 7+ years of experience at top tier SaaS startups/companies.

  • Experience as a Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer at a top tier company or fast growing startup.

  • Led high-performing and happy teams building complex modern software with particular influence over product strategy and delivery.

  • Substantial experience in designing and building complex systems delivering critical decisions at scale, API integrations, and in building data and AI heavy products.

  • You are an empathetic communicator who can navigate tricky situations, having tough conversations where necessary, and being objective and structured in your approach to all personnel matters.

  • You are considerate, humble, and a strong believer in teamwork.

  • You value honest feedback and creating an environment where it flourishes.

  • You’re comfortably organised amongst chaos.
